Director of Public Treasury Division
Majed Saeed Al Shamsi is the Director of the Public Treasury Division at the Department of Finance (DOF), which he joined in 2005 as a Senior Accountant. He has extensive experience in managing public treasury funds and preparing specialized financial reports in the field of management of public cash and implementing the budget law, which all help the senior management in taking different decisions at all levels.
Majed Al Shamsi started his career at Emirates National Oil Company Group (ENOC) in 2002 and continued to serve there until 2005 in various sectors such as inventory, billing, cash handling and reporting.
During his work with ENOC, Majed received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2004.
About the Public Treasury Division:
It is one of the five divisions of which the Central Accounts Sector is consisting. The division has four sections that implement the objectives of the Division in light of its vision and mission. Mainly, the Division carries out the approved budget implementation processes. Key tasks are the transfer of cash payments to various government agencies in light of the approved budget (government entities payments section) as well as the implementation of the budget for the various support bodies (support payments and independent entities section). The Division also organizes the available financial resources by investing the surplus cash by linking it to bank deposits for periods depending on the government's monetary plan, along with full commitment to provision of the liquidity needed to finance public expenditure, meet financial obligations and provide minimum daily liquidity (Public Treasury Division). The Division also supervises all the operations related to opening, closing and modifying the powers of signature for bank accounts of all government entities in the Emirate of Dubai (Cash Section).
