Director General Profile
Mubarak Al Shamsi became Director of Corporate Support Division in the Department of Finance – Government of Dubai in 2010 after being transferred from The Executive Council.
Prior to the transfer, he was the Head of Special Projects - Support Services Centre (SSC) at The Executive Council; he held this position from November 2007 to February 2010. Known for his accuracy, attention to detail and ability to consistently meet challenging goals, he was given SSC project, main object of this project was to build the Sole Government Back Office provider for quality support services that will ensure a solid foundation for Startups, Medium and act as a Centre of Excellence for Small Entities.
In addition to that, he had to create a standardized and streamlined Back Office services using to build a Customer Centric Service unit that continuously measure. In addition, to provide timely single-point back office solution for small, medium, and start-up Dubai Government entities by offering an efficient and standardized value-added solutions while continuously measuring satisfaction levels.
Under his supervision, the number of Government entities SSC has been serving currently and previously became 27 and SSC is still serving twenty three till date. Also by creating unique business model for the wise management of public resources that enabled the SSC to save millions of dirhams for several government entities by sourcing the Finance, Accounting, procurement, payroll and human resource services among others to the center.
Previously, Mubarak worked as the Senior Business Centre Manager at Emirates Telecommunications Corporation – Etisalat
He holds Master of Business Administration degree from International University in Florida, USA. He is married with three children. He has various interests, the most important of which is the traveling, work out (GYM) and reading.
Mr. Mubarak Al Shamsi is also an active member of the Department of Finance’s Excellence Awards Committee and other committees.
About Corporate Support Division:
The Corporate Support Division consists of the Administrative Affairs Department and Human Resources Department, which provide support services to DOF Departments and staff in the Department of Finance. The Institutional Support Department enjoys a strong and interlinked work relationship with the Central Accounts and Budget and Planning divisions.
